Board Member, The LOVB Foundation | Higher Education Leader | Nursing & Health Sciences Advocate

Diane Pestolesi is a visionary educator, administrator, and passionate advocate for expanding opportunities in both academics and athletics. As a board member of The LOVB Foundation, she brings decades of leadership experience to the organization’s mission of increasing access to volleyball and empowering young athletes through sport.

Career & Leadership

  • Dean of Health Sciences & Human Services, Saddleback College (2018–2020): Oversaw nursing and health sciences programs, ensuring compliance with state and national accreditation standards while fostering student success.
  • Nursing Program Director (2016-2018) – Spearheaded curriculum development and mentoring of future healthcare professionals. 
  • Professor of Nursing, Saddleback College (1996–2015): Expertise: Critical care and regulatory compliance, grant writing, and data-driven program development. 

Volleyball Legacy

  • Three time AIAW All American 1978-1980. National Champion 1979. The Broderick Award winner as the nations top Collegiate Volleyball player 1981. Inducted into the University of Hawaii Hall of Fame for volleyball 
  • At The LOVB Foundation, Diane channels her lifelong love of sports into creating pathways for young athletes, emphasizing inclusivity, mentorship, and community engagement.

Education

  • Doctorate in Education (EdD), Western University of Health Sciences
  • Deeply committed to the intersection of health, education, and athletics, Diane believes in volleyball’s power to teach leadership, resilience, and teamwork.
